Arnold’s career began in the ‘70s with Disc Records, then was instrumental in the rise of Trans World Entertainment before taking a position as head of sales at Hollywood Records.

However, he was mostly known for his 18 years at Best Buy, where he built the big-box retailer into a valued music distributor. Arnold, for instance, negotiated a deal to exclusively launch Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy in 2008 as well as various other exclusives, including signing Chickenfoot to Best Buy.

He was on the board of the Grammy Foundation and Tony Hawk Foundation and was the first retailer to serve on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Committee.
