Matchbox Twenty & Counting Crows Team Up

Following 2016’s Rob Thomas/Counting Crows co-headline tour, the singer/songwriter is hitting the road with the Crows once again – and this time he’s bringing along all of Matchbox Twenty.

The “A Brief History Of Everything Tour” launches July 12 in Spokane, Wash. The trek continues into the fall, wrapping up Oct. 1 in Dallas. Cities on the routing include Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Nashville, Toronto, Cincinnati, and Inglewood, Calif.

“No matter what I will ever do, nothing feels like home as much as playing these songs with these guys and it never will,” Matchbox Twenty frontman Thomas said. “And I can’t wait to spend another summer out there on the road with the Crows.”

Counting Crows is looking forward to the road trip too.

“To be honest, we took a vote after last year and decided to spend every summer with Rob from now on,” Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz adds. “Can. Not. Wait.”

In October Matchbox Twenty celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of its debut album, Yourself Or Someone Like You. The LP has been certified 12x platinum, selling more than 15 million copies worldwide. Chances are good that the band will play some of the LP’s classic singles on tour this year, like “Push” and “3 AM.” The band’s most recent album is 2012’s North.

Counting Crows released its seventh studio album, Somewhere Under Wonderland, in 2014. A review from Rolling Stone says, “Adam Duritz is still the same dreadlocked dreamer you remember from the Nineties, channeling Van Morrison, R.E.M. and Bruce Springsteen into word-zonked ballads that reference Jackie O., Elvis, Johnny Appleseed and more.”
