Tool is back on the road once more this summer and the question on everyone’s mind is whether the band will be releasing its fabled fifth album.
The first of the new dates is in Fairfax, Va., at Eaglebank Arena, on May 24. Two festivals are on the docket: Boston Calling on May 28 in Allston, Mass., and Governors Ball on June 4 in New York. The last scheduled date is in Rosemont, Ill., on June 8.
The shows are being billed as an “unparalleled sonic and visual experience,” and the band’s use of visuals and lights in past concerts certainly validates that claim.
The lineup for Tool is currently drummer Danny Carey, Adam Jones on guitar, and Justin Chancellor on bass, with Keenan on vocals.
Here is the plan:
May 24 – Fairfax, Va., EagleBank Arena
May 27 – Bangor, Maine, Darling's Waterfront Pavilion
May 28 – Allston, Mass., Harvard Athletic Complex (Boston Calling)
May 30 – Rochester, N.Y., Blue Cross Arena
May 31 – Hamilton, Ontario, FirstOntario Centre
June 2 – Montreal, Quebec, Bell Centre
June 4 – New York, N.Y., Randall's Island (Governors Ball Music Festival)
June 5 – Pittsburgh, Pa., Peterson Events Center
