The Urban Dictionary defines “La Flame” as a term Travis Scott coined to mean “the party was wild, turn up, lit, hyped,” but it clearly refers to the Houston-born hip hop prodigy and his career, which are both clearly on fire.

Scott defies easy categorization. The 24-year-old has been producing and then recording music since he was 16, collaborating with the likes of Kanye West, The Weeknd, T.I., Pusha T, Wale, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Kid Cudi, just to name a few.

But he’s also dipped into fashion design and filmmaking, with a La Flame clothing line and short documentary called, of course, “La Flame.”

He’s a prodigious writer and performer, too. In addition to 2015’s Rodeo, which spawned two hit singles, and last year’s Birds in the Trip Sing McKnight, he’s issued mixtapes, released free tracks through his SoundCloud account and toured with the likes of Young Thug, West, The Weeknd, Juicy J and, last year, opened for Rihanna.

The exposure and word-of-mouth about Scott’s raucous performances paid off with several sold-out theatre gigs in between his tour dates opening for others. While The Weeknd was selling out the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., Scott was selling out The Warfield across the bay in San Francisco the following night.

The story was the same along other stops, too. The Weeknd in Seattle; Scott in Vancouver. After two shows at the Forum in Los Angeles, Scott was headed for Tempe, Ariz., for another sold-out one-off.

Now he’s back with a major headlining tour of his own: the Birds Eye View Tour, just announced by Live Nation, including amphitheaters and major clubs such as Santa Barbara Bowl in California, Terminal 5 in New York City, PNC Pavilion in Pittsburgh, and St. Augustine Amphitheatre in Florida.

Agent Cara Lewis of the Cara Lewis Group has also booked Scott on a clutch of festival dates including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Rolling Loud, and Soundset in the U.S.

After that, he’s off to Europe including Wireless Germany and Finland’s Ruisrock Festival.
